Not allowed to take your pets on holiday to the EU - that's the final straw!

OK, the EU has said it's not going to try to punish UK for Brexit but what's this all about bannng British pets?  Doesn't the man realise that will be enough to drive us to open hostilities!

French women will be required to shave their armpits before entry into UK, garlic breath detectors to be installed at Border control, we could strike back!

Although according Barmy Barnier flights will stop ferries will stop if they haven't bullied us into an agreement before the 29/03/2019 *-) .........

I reckon we should just tell em to stuff their EU where the sun don't shine and walk away NOW >:-) ........

Think of the amount of hot air we'll save from being released into the atmosphere B-) ......

We will be a non EU country if we leave and especially if we leave with no deal so the same rules will apply to us as any other country from outside of Europe which means travel restrictions and no pets. I still find it odd that after all this time people assume the rules wont apply to us as we are the good ole UK. *-)

When your "in the club" its taken for granted that you adhere to certain standards from everything from food to pets. This is a good thing as it means you can take these standards (Within reason) For granted and as such free movement, hygiene, clean beaches, pet care, health care etc should be the same or near as dammit across all nations. This isnt a threat its a fact.

Do you think the EU should make exceptions for us when we are no longer part of Europe just because its us?

I'm not sure why anyone is so outraged by this at all. :-S

If you stopped paying membership fees to your local golf club, would you expect to continue using their course and enjoying their facilities for free? :-S

UK chose to leave the EU....we weren't kicked out.We had a choice to leave or stay, some wanted to leave and are now finally beginning to see the mistake they made. Unfortunately everyone else has to suffer the consequences of their folly. There will be much more to come yet.

But if we leave we wont be in either. We will have no rights whatsoever or be part of Europe at all unless of course we broker some kind of half in half out deal. Of course Pets can be brought in from outside of Europe but you can be sure the requirements will be more complex an bureaucratic than it is now whilst we are members of the EU and subject to the rules and regulations on animal transport.

These schemes are European and rely on EU rules and EU courts for their enforcement. If we aren't in the EU and won't allow EU courts to rule on any matters involving the UK there is no way they can let us in to them.

People either voted to cut ourselves off from Europe or they didnt. You cant have it both ways and cherry pick the bits you liked unless of course your prepared to leave in name only.

It's just another thing to be sorted, pets passport is a development of a scheme initially started to enable pets to come into UK due to our strict quarantine laws, even now the requirements to enter UK are higher than other EU countries, plus other non EU countries are already in the scheme.

Barry it was a geographic leg pull please don't take yourself so seriously. Anyway it was we who restricted dogs from Europe mainland to quarantine and I can remember the media panic about a rabies epidemic here when it was lifted, seems familiar?

Dunno about that, as the rabies jab for Troy with a UK pet passport was required every 3 years......

Kira with a Spanish passport every year ;-) ..........

That's a shame. Brittany Ferries and EuroTunnel going bust. I liked them.

I believe this is at the insistence of countries like the UK that the Spanish passport has stricter conditions.
