Guest frankie Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 My wife and I are travelling from Zeebrugge to South of France in our motorhome. Can anyone help with advice regarding the best route to take and if they have any good sites to suggest. WE have all the books and site guides but would prefer to hear from anyone who has already done this. We have about 4 weeks and would like to take 1 week or so to get to Sth. We do not camp in Aires or service areas. Please advise. All help greatly appreciated Frankie
Guest David Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Hi Frankie, Drive out of Zeebrugge point your nose Sth and just go, stop where you like, go where you like. What other people suggest may not be to your liking. You are individuals drive 400miles a day or 40, thats the beauty of freedom. I remember once many years ago driving to Spain with the Caravan, we travelled about 30 miles one day, we had started about 9-0 in the morning and saw this lovely camp site and the area was superb so we just stopped and had a great day and night. We made up for it hte next day by driving further than we would normaly have done. Take the quieter roads and enjoy the views and old towns, and the local produce and people. What One person thinks is a good site another hates. Enjoy yur trip. Bon route. David
Guest Wendy Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Agree absolutely with David, just follow your nose. If the first site that you stop at isn't to your liking, there will always be another not too far away. We like the municipal sites in France and generally head for these. The Caravan Club 'Caravan Europe 1' book is our bible for finding good sites. It has not let us down yet. Good luck and I'm sure that you will have a wonderful trip.
