The advertising spend by the 'big brands' tops £6 Billion this year.

I know I am a grumpy old git but I have yet to see one advert on TV that makes me think, original, interesting, imaginative, attractive, compelling or anything else that would make me want to spend my cash where or on what is being promoted?

Think of what £6 Billion would buy - 2 nice new aircraft carriers that we don't need, which makes the Typhoon aircraft a gift at a mere £87 million - or 10 nice new hospitals.

Shame we couldn't have have the 'Asda' or 'Sainsbury' or 'Morrison' hospital instead of such an abject and pointless waste of cash, supplied naturally by the very customers who fuel this waste.

Cheers Dave, and many happy Noels to you too and your lovely lady wife and various hounds!

Hope the sun shines for you and the falldedown liquid remains cheap!

I'm a tightwad too and rarely get fleeced even in over priced rip off Britain and in spite of the Brexit doom and gloomer profit mongers!

....'tis a grand point you make Tracker.  Maybe it is something the management of those establishments mentioned have never considered so maybe a 'nudge' here and there could prove fruitful.  I hasten to add that I prefer the possibility of hospitals being the social benefit as opposed to military hardware.
