mark lambert Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Just wanted to know, if my van is parked for a few months during the winter, is it best to put the blackout blinds down or not? will they help to keep the damp out/in? sun fade on the materials not such a problem? choppa
Fetch Carry Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Have heard that leaving them down can make the springs stretch causing problems with them going up and down etc.
chas Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 We never leave our blinds down for long periods ,as the manufacturer states, they can lose their memory, ie lose tension. If you have draw curtains use them for keeping prying eyes out, and insulation. If you have no draw curtains fix some cardboard screens to the insides of the windows. chas
Guest starspirit Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 The sun will also harden the blinds leading to them cracking when they rolled and unrolled. We live in Pembrokeshire and winter sun is a real bonus - like today and yesterday for example - so we use old blankets to cover the seats.
