(does this stop the loud noise when running the pump? It's an accumulator tank and stops the pump cycling when you only run off a small amount of water. Inside it there is a bladder that fills with water when you run the pump. It is pressurised on the outside by air which you pump in at the recomended pressure. when you turn off the tap the pump continues to run until it reaches the cut off setting on the pump pressure switch. Thus you still have water available at 13 psi or whatever the pump switch is set at if lower than 13psi. So stopping the pump running for a small demand. But the downside of this is that your system must be leak free or your tank will empty into your van. You will soon know as the pump will come on and off. A bit long winded reply but shows you what it's for hopefully.
