steveandlisa
Hello, I have a little problem with the hot/cold tap over the kitchen sink in our Bailey 740se. The tap mount gradually works loose when the swivel spout is moved a few times. I have tried to tighten the back nut under the work-top to some degree but cannot reach in far enough for good leverage due to the cutlery draw. So I`m wondering if its possible to remove/pull the draw from its runners to gain access and if so how (?) Any ideas please. Regards Steve
colin
Not sure what runners your van has, but most runners have a 'lever' an inch or so long, move this up(or down) and one part of runner will release from the other allowing drawer to be pulled out. Alanb
I have not encountered the lever style catch detailed by Colin. The drawers in our PVC and also in our kichen at home, are removed by fully opening, and then lifting the outer end. This allows the rollers to be lifted out of a gap in the top of the rail. Derek Uzzell
The retention method used for a drawer in a leisure-vehicle varies according to the make, model and year of vehicle - there’s no standardisation and it’s not always obvious how the drawer is removed. For example, my 2015 Rapido’s ‘soft close’ cutlery drawer has a pair of sliders beneath it with a couple of catches that clearly need to be disengaged to remove the drawer, but my previous Hobby motorhome had a different retention system and, before that, my Herald used another arrangement. I can’t advise on how the cutlery drawer of a 2012 Bailey 740SE is retained, but it’s likely that someone in the Bailey Motorhme Owners Group on Facebook will know https://www.facebook.com/groups/1433322080268895/ There are some on-line discussions about removing drawers in Bailey leisure-vehicles, but most of these seem to relate to caravans. https://tinyurl.com/ya2m5abn It’s a reasonable (!!) assumption that the drawer retention method Bailey was using for caravans around 2012 was also used for motorhomes - a cursory browse though the on-line entries suggests that more than one method has been used over time. Me, I’d contact Bailey and ask them. https://www.baileyofbristol.co.uk/contact-us Thel lower section of my Rapido’s kitchen mixer-tap also moved when its spout was swivelled. Accessing the tap’s invisible retention nut on the underside of the worktop to tighten it involved unscrewing a small hatch in the back of a kitchen cabinet, a mirror, a torch, a variety of tools and a string of expletives. The problem is clearly not unique to Bailey products https://www.practicalcaravan.com/forum/technical/47931-kitchen-tap-swivelling
