Wasnt Me
Hi we are heading to Chatel next month and I am looking for a route that avoids going through Switzerland, partly as I don't wish to pay for a Vignette. It seems fairly easy to go around Geneva and get to Thonon-les-Bains. From there I need to get to Abondance and on to Chatel using the D22. Has anyone used this road? Is it passable in a Motorhome? How steep is it etc? Thanks in advance
Colin17
Not driven it myself, but Chatel is a reasonable size ski resort. Buses, coaches, lorries will use that road all the time. Should be no problem even in a large motor home. Camper contact lists parking a service point and a campsite.
Wasnt Me
Thanks we are booked into a campsite at the bottom of Chatel https://www.oustalet.com It just concerned me that the road there, with lots of hairpins might be a challenge for the old clutch. Good job I put some new front pads in
