Comfort Insurance and Transits

Wasnt Me

Recommended Posts

Just had my renewal and Aviva are refusing to insure without a Cat5/6 tracker. Due to increased Transit thefts.

I have been offered to go with L.V for £40 more.

Has anyone got experience of L.V? I know they are a large company.

Been offered a cat 6 tracker for £199 then £12 a month subscription.

I was with LV before changing to Comfort, but not having had to claim can't really offer any useful advice. There are, however, two clauses in their policy that you might want to be aware of. The windscreen cover is capped at £600 over the life of the policy (not per claim), which is not a problem unless you are very unlucky or plan to change to an A class. The second is the wording around the exclusion for damage caused by onboard gas appliances. Comfort have a similar clause but while theirs is straightforward LV's, in my opinion, is a bit ambiguous as to what maintenance is required to preserve cover for such eventuality and could give rise to argument in the event of a claim.

That a awful, did you get it back? Or manage to replace it with the insurance.

I'm gonna go with LV.

I might upgrade the door locks and disable the EOBD port, after our Holiday.

No it disappeared I have been told that they use the ODB port to re-programme the keys in a matter of seconds and then they're away.

I now use a lot of mechanical security in addition to alarms!
