Burgess Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 On a Nuevo 02, the Electrolux RM 4230 fails to do its stuff when o the mains supply, but is fine on gas/12v. Assume this could be a duff heater. Any advice on checking/removing the fridge and changing the heater. Thanks folks, John
Brian Kirby Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Have you checked/verified you actually have 230V to the heater terminals, and an unbroken circuit right back to the consumer unit? A duff heater is possible, and can be replaced, but these are usually very reliable and trouble free units with very simple heaters. If the van is only 4 years old it would be worth a thorough circuit check before assuming the heater is a dud.
Guest peter Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 And make sure the circuit breaker has not tripped.
Burgess Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Thanks Brian for your comments, I believe I have 240V up to the unit, as looking at the wiring circuit the indicator light is wired across the feed to the heater and its on, so I think its resonable to assume its ok to the heater. As the unit has to come out to get at the electrics I will put another note on the Board about that. Thanks John
Burgess Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Thanks Peter and it has"nt. In fact the Indicator light is on which is wired across the heater. John
Brian Kirby Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 BurgessIf you decide the heater is dud, I'd suggest you start off at the Dometic website, get their customer services telephone number, give them a ring and sse who thay can suggest for the repair. You'll need the type and serial numbers from the sitck on plate at the back of the fridge on the inside.
