derek500 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Had my first cab service done today. 10,000kms, 10 months. 121.03€. 61.17€ was for oil (6L), 25.85€ oil filter, 10.46€ topping up fluids and 23.55€ for 0.7 of an hour of labour at 33.64€ per hour. Bit shocked with the price of oil, more than half the bill!! It's a Ducato 2.8JTD 146hp.
Lee1st Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I'm told that, if you can find the oil cheaper, it's acceptable to provide your own, never tested it though, Lee
Terrytraveller Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hi derek, Have all my services carried out in France at a Peugeot Dealer, the services are 90 euro all filters and fully synthetic oil included. I would have thought that Fiat should be about the same price - its still pretty good value at around £60 = 121.03 euros. It would cost you at least £169 at DMS Autocentre, Swindon or around £300 at Brownhills Swindon. Regards Terry
derek500 Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 It would be worthwhile for more Brits to have their services done while they're in mainland Europe. The savings would pay for the ferry!! Derek
chas Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Would be great if any one could recommend a Peugeot garage in the Calais area, idealy where they speak a little English. :-D chas
Philman Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hi Terry, I agree it's usually much cheaper to have any servicing done while abroad, especially in Italy for Fiats :-D :-D . BTW I think €120 is more like £80. 8-) Phil.
Keith T Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Derek - sorry to ask the obvious - are the figures in your original posting really in Euros.(€) ....if so the rate per hour is rather less than UK, I think its more like £50/60 per hour (yes thats Pounds) down here....?

Since the PSA engines are basically the same across the range, you should be able to visit Citroen van service centres as well as Peugeot. Only problem might be warranty work/spares (part Nos more than incorrect components).

Yes they are are!! How about this:- When I was in England in the summer, I had an argument with a white van going in the opposite direction, resulting in my losing the bottom 'wide-angle' wing mirror glass. I thought about replacing it whilst over there, but decided to wait until I got home. I searched the internet and found prices in the UK of £69+VAT for a replacement. My local Fiat dealer here in Valencia ordered one for me, next day delivery for 20€ +IVA 16% (Spanish VAT), in total 23.20€. Derek
