Mike P
Having had a clip on the rear near side skirt on my 2008 Autotrail Cheyenne 630LB, I'm now searching for a repairer within striking distance (100 miles say) of Carlisle, who can carry out competent repairs with a gel coat finish rather than filler and paint. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated. Mike P
Guest pelmetman
Your prolly better of trying a boatyard if you prefer a gel coat repair ;-) ......... As I know from doing gel coat repairs on my boat, its a totally different skill set :-| ........
Tracker
Do you have a particular reason for wanting a gel coat repair? Having carried our repairs myself over the years I found that reinforcing the back of the damage with a coat or two, depending how weak it is, of GRP matting and resin, then filling with flexible filler and spraying works very well and is a heck of a lot less expensive than a gel coat repair, especially on an older van, as long as the person doing the repair is competent . Someone like ChipsAway or similar SMART repair specialist might be worth talking too as they tend to be less expensive than conventional bodyshops for smaller repairs and their work carries a good warranty.
