NATO on the move

Polish military trucks on the move yesterday. Got stuck behind a convoy of eight huge transporters under escort by military police. Further up, the road narrowed and an oncoming HGV got a bit too close to the transporters and had his door mirror ripped off. Eventually the MP escorts stopped the convoy on a straight and did some traffic duty as they'd built up a fair tail back.

Hi,

In the mid-1960s, one of our Leyland Hippos (Google) started to drink it's own sump oil, and the engine "ran-away". The driver stopped, and jumped out ... managing to release the hand-brake while doing so. The truck trundled away, still screaming, and parked itself in somebody's front room. Having emptied the sump, the engine dropped to a slow tick-over.

The Press arrived, complete with photographer.

A Snowdrop (RAF policeman) pointed his .38" at the photographer's head, and suggested he should "Go forth and multiply!" Think "Blue Streak" ... the pointed end.

On another occasion, a car driver overtook a Hippo, pulled into the gap between it, and the truck in front, not realising they were connected by a solid tow-bar.. Oops!

Photographer doing his job, showing Her Majesty's military as it is.

A change from the spin and propoganda we are fed by Buckingham Palace Press Office etc.

Yes I've known Her Majesty's soldiers like that too.

Maybe he learned it from Prince Harry who physically attacked a photographer in a public street for doing his job and showing Prince Harry as he really was.

Sadly, They are not all Heroes :-(
