ian81 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 The water heater jacket in our MH has spring a leak. The tube is not copper so normal solder wont work. Has anybody got any other ideas, please?? Failing that a good source of secondhand gas water heaters. Thanks
Brian Kirby Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 What is the type/make of heater? That will help.
Guest peter Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Epoxy putty. Comes in a plastic tube from B&Q Screwfic Etc. Works even on wet surface and sets rock hard, but is better if surface is dry and clean. Totally waterproof when set and came be drilled/filed Etc.
Terrytraveller Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi Ian, Try silver solder for soldering metals other than copper that need to have a strong bond. Have a look at the following web site for hints & tips. http://www.bhi.co.uk/hints/solder.htm Regards Terry
