Tstar Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi everyone. Just read all the comments on driving to Applecross and now feel fairly confident about going there in March. Will post results of the trip when we return.
mthomson Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hello. The only thing I was bothered about when tackling the pass in my LWB Timberland Freedom was the possibility of not getting round the hairpins in one go, but the tightest hairpin did in fact have plenty room for the long wheelbase to get round. I'm sure you'll have no trouble in your Clubman, probably using some first gear, and I'd recommend doing the pass. The views from the top are quite spectacular, and it's also worth taking a walk up to the nearest high bit, starting just across the road from the parking area - you then have 360-degree views. One of the pubs in Applecross does excellent fish and chips! All the best, Mike.
