Satellite/tv setup

Having never had satellite in a 'van we are struggling to get everything working. We have followed the instructions that came with the digibox but with no success, the manual says that it assumes that the tv is tuned to the satellite. This may be where the problem lies. Can anyone advise us or suggest where we may find more information? Thanks in advance.

Hi Audrey,

Turn your Sat receiver on;-

1. if connecting via a scart socket cycle through the TV/AV options on the TV, until you get a setup screen showing from your Sat Receiver.

2. If connecting with the coax cable, then go through the tuning procedure as you might when setting up your TV for the first time from a new location, until you get a set up screen as in 1. above.

Terry's advice is probably correct. Most TVs have to be set to what's known as the AV setting to receive a signal from an outside source other than the normal aerial.

On one of my small TVs it's a switch on the front which you press in to switch to AV, on another you do it via the menu.

If you are properly connected you will get a screen which tells you that the digibox is online. You may not be receiving a signal until you line up the dish properly but before you even worry about the dish alignment you must get that digibox screen on your TV. Without that you can go nowhere.

when setting up the lmb the digi box will lock onto any satelite if left [locked on] to it for more than 20/30 seconds. therefore,if you have found the wrong sat you must totally switch off the digi box for about 2 mins for it to be able to find the astra sat. it doesnt matter how much you move the dish around it will not lock onto another sat without toally de-energising the sat sysyem....regards cej
