kelly58
As I am new to this magical world of Motorhomes perhaps my odd questions may seem old hat but I would like to know if it is advisable to leave the window blinds down all the time the motorhome is stood mainly to keep the sun off the interior,or will this cause a problem with the blinds mechanism. be happy kelly ;-)
empress
Hi Kelly, I have been told never to leave the blinds down all the time as it does something bad to stop them closing properly. From my answer you can see I am no expert. Empress

Mel E
Leaving them down full time should not affect the spring mechanism that rolls them back up. But it will cause the outside (sunny side) of the blinds to discolour quite badly over time. I'd say: leave them down for sun protection when the m'home is being used and leave them up when parked up - perhaps use some old bed sheets instead. Guest starspirit
I agree with Mel and we use old sheets to help avoid upholstery fade. Blinds will deteriorate if left down and the plastic may harden and crack as well as the springs losing some of their tension
