Hi all just back from the NEC looking at the Broadway EK very seriously firstly in the LP model were do you store mattress toppers and bed clothes under the seats or are you better with the Luton and store there also is this the same engine as the new mk8 transit with all the injector problems as it’s on the Peugeot 2.0 160 bhp engine Edd

The latest PSA Blue HDI Euro 6 2 Litre engine is not a Ford derivative. The previous 2.2 litre "Puma" engine was.

I have no direct experience of the 160bhp iteration but the 130bhp version is the same basic engine with the same bore and stroke and it seems to be a good engine. I am not aware of any particular problems with it.

We had a 2015 version of a Broadway EK,LP,TB.

Yes, bed stowage was a problem - made particularly awkward by the poorly positioned battery and all the pipe work associated with the Whale water connectors. Not being impressed with the Whale system we had a SHURflow pump installed.

Other irritations were: hab door-stay retaining bolt loosening and getting lost (twice), difficulty in stowing the table in the wardrobe when full and behind the antenna , noisy Peugeot engine on start-up cf. Fiat, faulty awning (repaired twice).

Oh, and not strictly faults but concerns: the 50 plus plastic screw covers all over the van. In particular were the 12 that covered the screws on the front of the wardrobe - just in line-of-sight as you walk in. Access to the Truma boiler was behind these, and the wardrobe floor would need to be removed to gain full access because of its mounting position

.

So why did we buy it? We didn't do enough homework and just got carried away when downsizing from our lovely 2008 Autotrail Cheyenne 740. It might some, but not us. It cost us a packet to change again, but you live and learn! Anyway, bought a Burstner 690G Sovereign, twin fixed beds, 3.5t and a garage -love it!
