Derek Uzzell
Is this the OCT Motorhomes vehicle by any chance? If so, then according to my August 1996 "Which Motorcaravan" the Cheyenne 585 was built on a Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer medium wheelbase chassis. Length was 19' 3", width 7' 2", height 9' 8", payload 635kg (excluding allowances for water/gas/passengers/luggage). It would appear that the standard motor was a 2.0 litre petrol unit, with normally aspirated or turbocharged diesels as options. Price in 1996 was around £28k. Which Motorcaravan published a test report in the April 1995 issue (though the model involved may have been the Cheyenne 584 clone). It's quite possible that MMM also reported on this vehicle around that time and, if so, the MMM article would probably have been more comprehensive. You would need to check with Warners about this and whether report copies are still available. (GOOGLE-ing on "cheyenne 585" produces more information.) Spares availability will depend on what you want. The trickiest bits to find are likely to be unique parts relating to the conversion (eg. plastic bathroom items), but this will be true of any motorhome 13 years old. The important thing is to make sure there's nothing catastrophically wrong with the motorhome before you buy it (and, if there's a warranty, to confirm what this covers). There is an Auto-Trail Owners Club (Sec: Mike Johnson Tel: 01476 402056) and my experience is that such clubs are usually happy to offer expert advice to prospective owners.
