Mickt
Has any body fitted a catalytic in there van. As my van has only blown air heating you have to rely on gas as well as 12volt supply.Do i assume correctley that a catalytic heater does not require 12volt and can be installed without venting to the outside.Problem this time of the year there is not much sun about for the solar panel, and as i camp without hookup say no more. 8-)
Terrytraveller
Our last MH had eberspacher blown air heating and it was a real pain providing enough 12-volts to supply the unit, so had given it some thought a few years ago, but landed up buying a new MH with a convector gas fire as an absolute must. The catalytic portable or fixed heater has a significant reduction of Carbon Monoxide emissions, put it still has CM emissions, so it's a definate no-no for a MH or caravan. Have a look at http://www.lpg-portable-heaters.co.uk/catalytic/index.htm It would be worth considering installing a gas convector fire, it's not neccessarily impossible to fit in any MH, but it could be difficult, certainly cheaper than buying a new MH.
