Windsurf1
Hi from a Newbie. I've recently purchased a Motorhome Autocruise Starfire. It has a tow bar fitted. I want to carry my windsurf board, if possible on the rear vertically. I've seen pics of US RV's with set ups but I 'm unable to find any UK sources. Obviously it will require some bracket fitting on the rear wall of the motorhome, the bottom secured some how to the tow ball frame. Any thoughts or suggestions please with possible supply companies? Thankyou. John C.
colin
I'm not sure how long your board is, but you would need to add about 0.5m to give the overall height with it stood on end, I'm a bit out of touch nowadays on board lengths, but my shortest board is 2.9m and my old Mega Cat race board is 3.7m which would give either 3.4m or 4.2m overall height the latter of which is quite high, but could be a bit less if mounted diagonally. I'm guessing you would be mounting it edge on to reduce wind resistance.
bodach
You can get bicycle racks which clip on to the towball. I have used one on my car which is pretty secure. You could probably adapt such a thing to carry anything you wish.
