zombies
Hi Am about to install a 100w solar panel onto the roof. Whilst awaiting everything to arrive and weigh up whats going where etc something popped into my shell like. Where the hole will be in the roof near this is a mains power socket and a 130w 12v socket (^) . Rather than lots of cabinet hole cutting could I fit the controller then wire it to the 12v 130w socket instead of going to the battery? Thought i'd ask while I look at the best way to cable to the leisure battery under the seat. Hey, my 100th post is on 100w solar. Its the simple things.... Edit : Have since thought I might lose some charge with it not going direct.... dunno
Charles
Yes you know the answer. Any additional connections risk voltage drop and inefficiencies maybe due to wrong cable size. Up to you though at the end of the day.
zombies
Hmm, would save a lot of messing. Its about 2 foot from where it enters the van, the battery is 5 meters via cabinet holes. A quick risk assessment is pecking away at my noggin......
zombies
I've gone to the battery, or getting there. Drilled through, cut and connected to controller
