'Morning!

Sorry, I've been off with 'flu since Friday.

I'm afraid that I'm the bearer of rather bad news - both our main and backup server decided to spontaneously combust within a few minutes of each other and we've lost all forum information between the 12th and 16th of February - messages, PMs, user accounts, the lot. Obviously this isn't a situation we're particularly happy with, and we're taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again, but there's really nothing we can do now.

Sorry!

Sorry you've not been well - hope you're fully recovered now, not just forcing yourself back to work because there's no-one else there.

Just goes to show, you really are "only human."

Unless of course it was the server that gave you the "virus," in which case, who knows??

Thanks for all you do for us, even in the background - we've just discovered how much we miss you when you aren't around!!

Tony

Would never have happened if you hadn't sneezed over it before you left! :-)

It's not getting the CD up there that's the hard bit ... it's getting it spinning to the right RPM that's problematic! 8-)

Mr Mod - don't the servers have hard drives that the back-up data is stored on? If so, isn't the data still there? (?)

Oh, forgot to say, hope you're feeling much better now ... we REALLY, REALLY missed you. :$

Yep, feeling much better now thanks!

As for the data loss - it's all handled offsite by another company, but I hear that there was a catastrophic failure of both the original and the backup. I would image the air turned blue pretty quickly.

Measures have been taken to ensure that it doesn't happen again. As for the 'flu not happening again.... I'm afraid I can't provide any guarantees on that one ;)
