You may also be interested to know that I'm in the progress of putting together some 'how to' instructions for using the 'Itinerary Planning' feature.

As opposed to the usual shortest or quickest route, 'Itinerary Planning' allows users to select key places or particular points on the map then let TomTom fill in the bits to make a complete personal route.

I should have it ready soon and will post it when its complete.

That's perfectly normal.  In TomTom HOME click File then Exit to shut it down.

If you go into explorer you should see an extra drive listed which will be the SD card.  It may say something like E:\TomTom or something like that.

If you haven't already done so, in explorer, I'd advise going into Tools > Folder Options > View.

Make sure there is a 'radio button' against 'Show hidden files and folders'.  Also click in the box to remove the tick from 'Hide extensions for known file types'.  Then click OK.

All you need to do now is copy the contents of the SD card to a temporary folder, remove the original and replace with the new bigger SD card, then copy the contents of the temporary folder back to the new SD card.

Put the original SD card back into it's protective plastic casing and store somewhere safe.

Hi,

Just copy the contents of the existing SD card into a temporary folder on your PC then copy the contents back to the new SD card.  You will not have to re-register it.  In fact it won't even know the swap has taken place.

I'm not sure what's happened here.

You've copied the files from the original SD card to a temporary folder then copied them back to a new SD card, right?

Are you now saying that TomTom won't boot up with the new SD card containing the old data?

Have you tried putting the old SD card back in?
