Wasnt Me
Hi I'm looking for a sun/rain blocker to fit my Fiamma awning rail. Awning for Caravans & Motorhomes Grey 3.50 x 2.4 for Edging Strips 7 mm, Water Column 2000 mm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074WBS48K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_07OsDbHK76V4K It has a 7mm strip apparently. Is that right for a Fiamma awning? I would like a fiamma one but I'm not prepared to pay the high price. Thanks in advance
pepe63xnotuse
Hi.. It's been some years since we had a Fiamma wind-out but the groove on the outer edge of one we had (on a 2007 van) was way too small take the *standard/"usual" awning bead (*6mm?/1/4"?) that was on our Outdoor Revolution Easicanopi (I recall the groove was nearer 4-5mm?). I think the grooves on their wind-outs are really intended for their shades/blockers, whereas the one you've linked to appears to an actual canopy/"tarp". I have seen(online) tarps/canopies that have supposedly had both sizes of bead on them..and also some that gave the option to specify the size when ordering (but again, that's a while back) You could mess around using the double edged Kador strip and plastic fig of 8 connector strip( "Drive-way" kit) ..but to me that's too much of a faff.. I'd either keep looking for one that fit straight off or just machine-sew on a new length of the correct sized beading (something we've done with pretty good, long lasting results) It may even be worth checking out ebay for a good used one? Edit- I had forgotten about these- http://www.windblockers.net/ ...any good? (forget that!..I've only just noticed the price!?!....)
