Self Build Electrical Control System

Wasnt Me

Recommended Posts

I am planning a self build and need advice on the electrical control system please.

I am currently looking at the this CBE system https://tinyurl.com/y3tbyxpw it looks to have everything I need.

I am thinking of adding a better charger to the system and I think this Ctek Dual 250se is what I am looking for as it will control the solar panels (planning on approx 300Watt)

https://tinyurl.com/yylc4xwv to use it in conjuction with this Ctek Smart pass https://tinyurl.com/yxqn6zn5

Am I going over the top and is there a better option? I didn't really budget for the Ctek stuff to be honest.

Any (sensible) suggestions welcome.

:-D

CBE has a stronger charger CB520-3 you might want to look into as a replacement for the CB510 in the kit. You might also want to consider schaudt and votronic gear with their all-in-one units or victron for individual components. No idea about ctek.

The Rainbow Conversions advert the 1st link in the original posting applies to may be inaccurate.

Some UK adverts for the PC210 kit indicate that a CB510 battery charger is included. However, this UK advert mentions a 16A charger.

https://www.kiravans.co.uk/cbe-pc210-kit#product.info.description

and the CBE wbsite's description of the PC210 kit refers to it having a CB516/3 charger.

The following September 2018 article related to ’new’ chargers from CBE - the CB516/3 and CB522/3

https://www.aboutcampbtob.eu/new-switching-battery-chargers-from-cbe/

As the PC210 kit is quite new, it seems more likely that (as the CBE website says) the charger would be the CB516/3 16A variant, rather than the older CB510 10A charger that was normally supplied as part of the earlier PC200 kit.

I’ve always been wary of the accuracy of CBE’s information For example, a GOOGLE-search on “CBE PC200” retrieves the following webpage that clearly relates to the PC200 kit but carries a SYSTEM PC210 heading.
