Welcome New Arrival! Will he/she go touring with you? Does he/she have his Passport? papers? Good background ;-)

How old is he/she? Don't let him bond with just one person otherwise if anything happens to you he/she will pine++++. They can be clingy with the person who is with them most so let him integrate.

Further thoughts on a name:

Penzance or Caribbean (Parrots of ...!!)

Luciano (Pavarotti ... "Parrarotti")

If it's old and bites it could be: Raptor

Moses ... if you then get a dog and call it Jesus, you've got the makings of a good joke ...

One thought - are you sure it's a male? Not easy to tell I understand. You don't want to call it by a male name if the poor thing turns out to be female.

Given that these birds do their business in a way similar to a game of paint ball, may I humbly suggest that at the earliest opportunity you ring its neck and have it stuffed and mounted by a reputable taxidermist. If the cost of having this done is a consideration then a tube of pollyfilla will do the job just as well. :-D . No? Well please yourselves then.

I,ve stuffed a few turkeys in my time Pete, but never a parrot. As our resident gourmet expert any advice on how to serve up a parrot. Red wine I presume.

Howie, they taste like chiken, but better with "rose" wine.

We Thai's will have a go at anything!!

We had a Timneh Grey (mini version of a African Grey) for many years, I was stuck for a name so went through the world Atlas, I came up with the name Toko, months later I looked where the place was again and it didn't exist! haven't got a clue where I thought I saw it!!! As for suggestions for your little parrot, well grey is a mix of black and white so how about Heinz (come about by the expression heinz 57 mix) or Slate, or Ghost, or Smokey!

Also had a Timneh Grey we called Kipper, when we were in the Pub, if the noise of talking used to get loud, he used to shout out "F... Off" and the room would go silent.

A Farmer I worked for once had a dog called "Askit", the number of people when told its name used to go to the dog and say " Whats your Name ".

Michele- Never mind the name, have you sorted out where it is going to sleep ( do they) in the van. Is this the reason that you were asking about privacy rooms on rollout awning? Now dont say it is going to stay at home, I have seen Parrots / buggies on sites before now. :-D chas

Sounds a happy chap ....... we visited a hotel in Shanklin a few weeks ago and there was a parakeet in the grounds, it had escaped from a family 8 miles in-land and no way was he going back into that cage (lol)
