I must admit being very fond of various cheese I’ve seldom seen anything other than plastic cheese over there and they call it Cheddar,unbelievably. France only had 1 in the top 16, they are not happy. You've never lived then as France makes some fantastic cheeses, Can't beat a good Roquefort or Bleu d'Auvergne bought fresh off any farmer market. Roquefort isn't cheap and if you don't like blue vein cheese you won't want either. Camembert and Brie are other favourites of mine and for taste, the absolute opposite to the blue vein. Its all about finding it at the right state if ripeness though. A fine Brie de Meaux or Melun (not for the faint hearted the later), Epoisses thats properly ripe is unbeatable washed down with a decent red or an ice cold Leffe Rituel bobbing around in some French lake in Provence.
