Tanskavan
Hi everyone, I am wanting to take a short break in Scotland at Easter. I need to visit friends in arrochar and then I would like to travel to Cambletown and back accross via arran. We have a dog and prefer quieter locations. Any interesting overnight stops? docted
Tony There are sites near Arrochar C&CC have a site at Luss whgich is just down Loch Lomond from Arrochar, there is also a Forestry Commission site about two miles beyond Arrochar;on the road down to Cambeltown there is a site in Lochgilphead. There is a commercial site just north of Campbeltown on the B842 further north on the same road there is a CC site at Carradale. On Arran there is a site at Lochranza; aditionally you may be able to wild on the harbour at Corrie. Good luck Docted
Jana
One of my very favourite sites is near to Campbeltown it is called Muasdale and is right on the beach overlooking Gigha. It isn't a large site but the views and the owners make it so special. There are otters but we haven't managed to see them yet although the seals seem to come out in the evening. The local shop has a really good range of beers and wine. The beers are both local and the more usual. If you are in Campeltown we enjoy a visit to the owl centre. www.muasdaleholidays.com Macrahinish Sea Bird and Wildlife Observatory is a good visit and we saw loads of seals nearby too. Oh writing this s making me long to sit at Muasdale just watching the sea (with a nice glass of wine is even better)
