For once I would say we dont really want thousands of funny foreigners turning up here to hopscotch to the US! I would still like to know why he has excluded the UK, it can only be political. For once I would say we dont really want thousands of funny foreigners turning up here to hopscotch to the US! I would still like to know why he has excluded the UK, it can only be political. You're right of course. I posted before I saw the detail, on the basis of the first reports on the ban. I was wondering whether we'd want to welcome all those EU travellers transiting to US via UK. I assume his logic is that the Schengen open borders mean people could travel freely from more affected countries through those less affected to enter the US if he only restricted travel from the worst affected countries. He's also included Ireland in the exemption, leading some cynics to think it was connected to his golf courses and hotels interests. But, as Antony says, he's such a winner one just has to love him!
