jumpstart
Phoned my dental practice as I have some gum pain . They are not allowed to see anybody . They will send me a prescription in the post. My Dentist described it as a ludicrous situation with no one in Government able to give meaningful directives. So don’t get toothache.
Barryd999
We were talking about this earlier. I think the directive as of the 25th March stated that there would be video consultations with a dentist and in emergency cases you could be directed to an emergency dentist clinic but Ive not heard anymore than that. Your right though, dont get toothache! 8-)
Violet1956
...or anything else for that matter. There are other killers out there but I do wonder whether people are reluctant to get themselves checked over when they have other symptoms of concern for fear of being dubbed selfish and of low priority. jumpstart
When I go out cycling I definitely go slower down hill with thoughts of not wanting to end up in A&E now.
Barryd999
Violet1956 - 2020-04-04 4:07 PM ...or anything else for that matter. There are other killers out there but I do wonder whether people are reluctant to get themselves checked over when they have other symptoms of concern for fear of being dubbed selfish and of low priority. When I got sick a couple of weeks ago I had a telephone appointment with my GP and two days later I had a video link appointment. Both I got within a couple of hours of phoning to request one. I got the impression my GP wasnt that busy. They just sent me a text the second time with a link. Tapped the link on my phone, turned on the camera and there he was. So help is still available remotely and I think if you have to see someone they will see you. Im going to need a prescription sometime in the next few weeks I guess. Not sure how that will work as its not on repeat but Im guessing ill be able to get it sent out.
HarveyHeaven
we had to call at the practice to get our prescription but the dispensary operates through a window to save going inside the building. The staff member wears a gown, gloves and a mask. We are over 70 and we managed to get a younger friend to go to the pharmacy. Our practice normally makes the prescription up at the surgery but due to staff illness (not Covid19) the pharmacy was not operational.
John52
NHS funded Dentists in England have long been reluctant to accept emergency appointments - something about it being more profitable to do unnecessary 6 monthly check ups.
