valsarhino
We have a 2011 Dethleffs Globe 4 which we have recently purchased. Irrespective of whether we drain the sink in the kitchen or the sink in the bathroom we have water dripping from underneath the vehicle. Where it is dripping there are no pipes visible which leads me to believe this is the lowest part on the van. I am thinking that because it is either sink that causes this there must be a joint or connecting pipe that connects both sinks to the waste tank, I think this must be where the leak is but can anyone tell me where this joint may be? I cannot see anything under the van. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Martin and Val
BruceM
What happens when you drain water from the shower?
valsarhino
Have just tried the shower. It doesn't seem to leak when that drains away???
BruceM
Unless someone comes along who is familiar with the drainage pipes for your make and model I think that you will need to start tracing the drain pipe runs. On my van the shower drain pipe has a run of its own and the the kitchen and bathroom sinks share a common run. Fortunately my ‘garage’ is underneath the bathroom and kitchen so I can see the pipe work. I think you’ll need to grab a torch and start peering into kitchen cupboards and under seating to establish where the pipes run. If you have an idea where pipes run but cannot fully see them try reaching in and feeling the pipes for dampness. It’s possibly just a loose connection that need tightening. I’m assuming that your van not under a current dealer guarantee.
Cruisecontrol
I had a similar problem on an Auto Tail Cheyenne 2008 model. I finally traced it to the Truma Combi (old type) boiler dump valve which was weeping down the drain pipe. Opening the valve momentarily caused it to stop. It then may return - or not. The next time out it may not do it at all. It seemed as if it was caused by over pressure - but I could have been wrong!
BruceM
Have a look at this thread https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/waste-water-tank-leaking-help-and-advice-please.159333/ - and in particular the eventual resolution of the issue. It sounds similar to yours in some ways and the vehicle age and manufacturer are the same.
valsarhino
Thanks Bruce. We are trying to trace the pipes but because we have a double floor this is not easy. It does seem like it could be, as you suggested, the join that needs tightening. We will continue to investigate tomorrow. We do have a 12 month warranty as we only purchased the van in February but under the current circumstances this could take a while, so thats we're trying ourselves!!! Will let you know how we get on. Cheers Martin and Val
flicka
If recently purchased , is it still under warranty ? If so, before pulling things apart, I'd refer it to the dealer, especially as you don't know where the drain pipes are routed.
