jstuart
Last year I met many European motor caravanners ( from Austria, Germany, Holland,, Hungary etc) who travelled this route to Greece in one day. I looked at some of their 'green cards', and, unlike mine, showed no restriction on travel to any of these countries. My own insurers (Comfort) assure me that cover cannot be bought for this one day trip--- surely potentially far less hazardous than the minimum of two days ( and river ferries etc) to travel via Romania and Bulgaria. Does anyone out there know how I could buy insurance for this route? (?) (?)
Mel E
Comfort policies are underwritten by Norwich Union who now underwrite around 40% of UK motor insurance. So I can only suggest you try a company that uses a foreign company to do the underwriting. Also, check what the FCO site (www.fco.gov.uk) says about visiting these countries - if they are OK with it, then you could try taking that back to Comfort and trying again. jstuart
Thank you Mel, I will try that. They did tell me that no one in Uk would insure this risk- which seems odd to me as it it is not an un-insurable risk for our European friends.
