Front top grill removal.

Hi, I have a 2014 ducato model with the tear drop headlights and I'm trying to remove the grill to see if its possible to fit a mesh behind it as its quite open. I have removed the 4 hex screws across the top but it still won't come off. I don't want to force it and break it so if anyone has removed it any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Assuming you mean the X250, there are either screws or pull out studs in the lower section of the grille between the ribs that also have to be removed.

If you mean the X290, after removing the upper fastenings tip the top edge of the grille slightly towards you and pull upwards, releasing the lower retaining lugs from their slots in the bumper.

Removal of a Ducato X250’s radiator grille seems to have been asked about quite often

This was the most recent previous enquiry on this forum

This YouTube video suggests that the method involves removing the 4 screws you’ve mentioned, folowed by judicous use of brute force.
