Fiat 2.5 td

Having read the thread about chipping a jtd type engine, I just wondered if there are any mods / adjustments that can be made to the older 2.5 td engine?.

I dont consider my 2.5 td to be realy poor, but at top weight (3500kg) its not exactly setting the heather on fire. I'm also glad that I didn't buy the lwb tag axle Hymer that I was looking at as it has the same engine and power and a dam sight more weight ( without my accumulated junk).

 

As I said I don't expect a race car and I drive 80,000 miles a year in vans, so I'm well used to loads /hills/power out puts but a couple of extra horses would not go amiss, especially uphill.

 

any thoughts?

hi, larger intercooler, and a pickup on the metering unit, will sort it.
