dipsticks
What with Covid and our cars standing around for long periods, for the first time, I need a battery charger to keep in the garage to be used in general. The cars have both AGM (in a VW UP) and EFB (in a Honda HRV) type batteries. Our van also Yuasa EFB’s but that is catered for by way of a good onboard charger and Solar Power. Could anyone recommend a good quality portable mains plug in charger, that would charge up the car batteries nicely and, if ever necessary, the van as well please. Thanks in advance. Derek Uzzell
This September forum thread referred to CTEK battery chargers https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/CTEK-Battery-Charger/56323/ and Page 2 of this later thread also carries some CTEK comments https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/off-grid-leisure-battery-durite-VSR-setup/56410/31/ A Victron Energy “Blue Smart” charger would be an alternative. (Depends on how fast you want to charge and how much you want to pay.)
dipsticks
Thanks Derek, you asked how much I wanted to pay. Well seventeen shillings and eleven pence would be nice ! about the same as I paid around 1964 if possible :-D Well I guessed that's not possible so I've ordered a CTEK MXS 5.0 discounted as recommended by Matrix Meanderer from Tayna. Thank you both.
