I was surprised to find he had a long running feud with producer Cubby Broccoli, mainly over pay but also other factors. When Connery asked Broccoli again for increased pay to do his sixth Bond movie, Broccoli gave a firm 'no' so Connery left and George Lazenby was brought in......and the movie was a total flop!

 

Connery got a whacking pay deal to come back for the next Bond plus 12.5% of the profits......but gave it all away to charity. I guess he felt he'd proved his point!

 

He was undoubtedly the best Bond imo and anyone who followed was going to find it difficult. He lived a full life and i hadn't known he was that age so he had a fair innings.

But great entertainment, and great PR for Her Majesty's spooks, so no wonder he got knighted.

I wondered why he stopped doing the Bond movies - should have known it was dispute over money.

Had my sisters grandson round recently, and didn't know what to do with him so put a Sean Connery Bond film on. He's got all the modern stuff, but he sat in front of the TV watching this 50 year old film spellbound for 2 hours - and he's only 4 :-D Asked him what he liked most and he said the girls 8-) (lol)

Didn't have Sean Connery's looks, but the stuff he did was realistic and believable.

And he was a great actor who did very well for himself, living in an exclusive gated community in one of Her Majesty's Tax Havens to avoid sharing it.

But I can understand people giving up on donating to the SNP.

Because we are never going to match Your money that BoJo spends here to bribe folk not to vote SNP, and to maintain his empire at your expense.

We are spending our own money, wheras BoJo is spending yours.

So BoJo is always going to have the most money to spend in Scotland
