My Government insider says!

We have a Brexit deal. The Brexiteers wont like it though.

"From a very reliable source in the 'Tunnel... there will be a UK-EU trade deal agreed next week. I quote:

"Britain has CAVED. Unless someone in Westminster does something really stupid between now and then a deal will be signed.

This will give the UK access to the Single Market, tariff and quota free BUT with specific sanctions to be put on the UK if we lower standards or move away from the Level Playing Field on state aid etc. This means that the UK becomes a rule taker inasmuch as when the EU implement new regulations or standards, the UK MUST also implement those new rules too but without being in the room or being able to vote on drafting the new regulations.

importantly this agreement does NOT keep the UK in the Customs Union meaning that the worst case scenario of thousands of stranded trucks in Kent is still on the table as are the 30 million customs declarations required between GB and Northern Ireland, not to mention the hundreds of millions of new customs declarations required to ship from GB to EU customers.

FISH. The UK will allow EU boats to continue to fish in UK waters, yes French ones too but the UKs quota will be gradually increased by agreement. Based on history though, any new fishing quota issued to the UK will probably be sold to someone in Spain or Denmark in the future just like we did with our last ones.

Interesting. Boris will sell this to the UK as a "great oven ready deal" I'm sure.

More to come."

Thats all I know. I suspect though it will be announced earlier than next week.

Of course this is based on the Oven Ready Brexit deal WA which has within it 40 horrors explained by the Spectator some time ago. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-top-40-horrors-lurking-in-the-small-print-of-theresa-may-s-brexit-deal-30-december-2018

My half full glass says we will be a rule taker. Expect toys being jettisoned from prams as Johnson has given in and hasn’t taken back control. No Custom Union agreement so customs declarations and Farage parking areas still required.

So a total sell out vassal state deal but they will no doubt claim a great oven ready deal.

I guess we will find out if my insider is a credible source soon enough then.

No I agree. Im just passing on the info from my "source". If true I suspect its been based around the assumption that Biden was predicted to win, now it looks poised on a knife edge. I just thought it would be interesting to put this out there. I guess we will find out if soon if it has any credibility.

Forget 'insider knowledge', this is public knowledge; Johnson failed to meet the EU deadline to explain his breach of international law undermining NI protocol.

Well it was just a bit of fun. Could be true of course, we will see.

Hinge and Bracket (The Brexit boys) are quiet today though. I suspect Mr Birdbrain has a bit of a sweat on and is rocking backwards and forwards fiddling with his worry beads. Pelmet is probably locked in his Greenhouse staging a sit in for when you come and claim his house, maybe his wifi dont go that far.

Oh its genuine information Stuart. I wasnt going to post it but after I was berated by Hinge and Bracket for posting the info about a possible extension "being discussed" I though I would share it rather than sit on it.

I dont know where in Government it came from but the person who relayed it is extremely reliable. I guess we will see but as said. I wonder if its the plan if Biden wins which right now is in the balance but looking good(ish). If I post joke or fake news its usually pretty obvious. Well to most people.

There was always going to be a deal? So why have you been telling us for god knows how long that its going to be no deal? If the deal is anything like the one I posted above along with the Oven ready WA which is Theresas deal it dont look anything like us being a "free country" in terms of What the Brexiteers said they wanted. It looks pretty much like we wont have taken control back of anything apart from just adding a massive headache for ourselves without a Customs Union.

Well if it does go like that I guess it will give Nige summat to moan about.

Well if it turns out to be that deal I posted at the top of the thread I am sure the EU will be happy to sign that. Dont forget it also means the WA (Oven ready deal) treaty stands and I bet you still haven't read that Spectator report. BRINO unless Trump wins then he might be brave enough go to no deal. Either way he's stuffed I reckon. No deal will cripple us so he will be out, BRINO will be exposed as exactly that within hours of it being announced also which as its then got his name all over it as "his" deal as you have just called it, he will also be toast. He's snookered either way now I reckon.

Idiot. The Australian deal may as well be called the Somalian Deal as it means pretty much the same. No deal. Australia does not have a deal with the Eu.
