All That Bitching About The Irish Border ...

Its good news for Northern Ireland that the Government has caved to the EU on this which they rightly should considering the signed "Oven Ready Brexit deal" they were about to breach was under a year old.

Lets hope it does not cause problems for goods being shipped to the UK from NI but the threat of violence was a real one, of that there is no doubt. it will remain as well as Johnson cannot be trusted of course.

I'd say wait for the details. This appears to be a half-border down the Irish Sea. Half, in the sense that anything coming from NI (and so by extension the Republic) can enter GB unchecked, but as yet unspecified goods going the other way will be subject to border controls when entering NI, to ensure that none which may go on into the Republic meet EU standards. It is the details of which categories of goods will be subject to border control, and by whom, that will probably ruffle a few feathers! Wonder why those weren't announced at the same time? :-D
