A Top 10 of Brexit phone callers to LBC's James O'Brien. The 3-pin plug guy is my favourite and shows what Brexit is all about. *-)

But take a listen to number 10, his call explaining his situation isn't funny at all. :-(

https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/james-obrien/top-10-brexit-calls/

He's very sharp, but he hectors his callers very heavily and keeps them off balance. In some ways it is cruel, because he is more articulate, and better informed, than his average caller, which at times becomes a form of intellectual bullying.

However, no-one is forced to phone him, so they should know what they're letting themselves in for. They are, of course, carefully selected for the "J O'B won this exchange" factor.

But, as an example of (at least some) people's attitudes, and what little fact or reason they are based on, it is just soooooooooooooo depressing.

It just repeatedly reminds me of that Churchill quote to the effect that the best argument against democracy is a brief conversation with the average voter! :-D

Rees-Smug got his just desserts imo. He probably came on thinking JOB is some lowly DJ on a silly little radio station. Big mistake.

That's what split me up over 3-pin plug guy. The first time I heard it I couldn't stop laughing but you're right, it's depressing that such lunacy exists. I thought i'd read and heard all the batsh1t crazy reasons for leaving the EU but read a new one today.......that we should have left [EU] earlier then we could have "stopped a lot of Covid getting across the channel". Seriously!!! *-)

Except for the 10th one, Ciaran the commercial van driver working JIT deliveries whose in danger of losing his business. These are the guys all Brexiteers, Johnson and co should listen to but don't, they ignore them.

It is - but only in the sense of laughing at the afflicted! :-D

I know. The temptation was great, but why divert yet another string into a pointless pro/anti Brexit peeing contest.

However, as you've mentioned it, it might be interesting if the author could explain why it was EU membership that meant we couldn't prevent Covid crossing the Channel. You know, just as it's nearly Christmas n'all !! :-D
