the French Government seems to have coped well.

Fixed that for you Stuart

since it was the French Government who sent the test kits and crew

The French sent 26 Pompiers, our Government deployed NHS staff and 800 troops.

Poor old Joke52 struggles with reality :D ..........

He even thinks Scotland can survive without English handouts (lol) (lol) (lol) ..........

The EU obviously care when their citizens are stuck abroad.

another lesson BoJo could learn from them

But now they have got the EU lorry drivers back -

will they deliver to Britain again?

and who will manage the testing if they do?

And Brussels instructed France not to close the boarder......that went well.

How can they have done that if being an EU member loses a country's sovereignty as the Brexiteers claim ?

what he hasn't said is where he's sent them to.

Doubt if he's sent them anywhere

Probably doesn't know where they have gone if they have got so p*ssed of with the lack of facilities they have gone somewhere else?

As every trucker is past desperate now to get back home to their families, all will have headed to Dover port. Quite why government chose to move the trucks off Manston instead of creating a sensible trickle flow to Dover I don't know, but showing an empty truck park makes better pr.

No queue’s in Dover.

According to who? :-S

J/start......a heck of a length of the M20 is showing up as orange and red which is very slow moving traffic. Hardly what i'd describe as "no queues". You have to bear in mind over 15,000 trucks were parked up at Manston and no way can Dover port shift that amount through in a few hours.

The PM and Grunt Shatts just said on the briefing that the number of trucks stuck in the queue at Dover has dramatically gone down from 500 to 170. Anyone know where they have gone because they aint left the country, Dover is closed and Manston is not open to trucks yet. Are there 330 lorries now wild camping on village greens and stuff?

Violet1956 - 2020-12-21 11:04 PM

900+ lorry drivers stuck in their cabs this side of the channel tonight. My heart goes out to them. Macron has to open the border to the freight, it is ridiculous to suggest that there is too much of a risk involved in letting these lorry driver continue their journeys.

A more current update to this situation is 3000 truckers spent Boxing Day stranded. Great to see the local community have stepped up to the plate and been dropping off food and drink and ten volunteers from an east London Muslim community made up over 1000 portions of chicken biryani plus chocolate bars to deliver to the drivers.

More trucks continue arriving as Calais is allowing trucks to go to UK, but not back, and being a tiny little island country heavily reliant on daily imports via thousands of trucks.....we can't say "don't come". But quite how much longer before truckers turn their backs on UK altogether is another matter. From reading comments by truckers and freight forwarders, many international drivers already are turning the work down.

Just for clarity ... Sikhs are not Muslim.

That isn't from what I posted yesterday......so why have you posted an entirely different link?

For clarity......and taken from my link;

Mubashir Ahmad Siddiqi, 60, and his two 20-year-old sons Qasim and Hamza, from Barking in east London, spent six hours helping to prepare 1,000 portions of chicken biryani on Friday for those stuck in Kent. Mr Siddiqi said: ‘Ten of us from the Ahmadiyya Muslim community and the Ahmadiyya Muslim youth association managed to drop off over 1,000 meals, 1,200 chocolate bars and drinks for the lorry drivers.’ He added: ‘It’s a great feeling to be able to help those who are alone at the moment and we hope that through our humble efforts we were able to cheer them up with the food packages.’
