The EU must be thoroughly fed up with negotiating,

and won't want to change a deal that benefits them.

So what can be done without rejoining the EU?

For which we have to have a change of Government first.

And they have got another 4 years

How many exporters can survive till then :-S

1 Seeing as just 5% of UK businesses export to the EU ;-) .........

2 I expect the benefits to the other 95% of not being in the EU will far exceed any losses to the Gobby LOSER minority

1 Actually, just under 10% according to the ONS. But, that just under 10% are all high volume exporters selling things like cars, aircraft, power generation etc, financial and businesses services etc.

2 The other 95% are not all exporters. Many are your neighbourhood butcher, baker and fishmonger. We have a more or less permanent negative balance of trade in goods, propped up by a positive balance in services. We import more of our food than we export, so we can ill-afford to lose any exports. If we do, the balance of trade will go into permanent deficit, the £ will lose value, and our food prices (among others) will rise. Good news all around! Pelmetanomics eh?! The way to prosperity! :-D

Talking of imports, wasn't Germany supposed to come riding to our rescue because we were so important? Not only did that not happen, it seems we are not so important after all and all we will get now is diminishing trade and a 50% price hike in freight rate charges.

https://trans.info/en/german-industry-association-predicting-germany-uk-freight-rate-rise-of-up-to-50-221876

Oh dear .........More "could" "might" "maybe" "perhaps" :D ........

Perhaps you ought to start buying British cheese and beer.......Instead of EU Crap >:-) ........

Except its not more "could" "might" "maybe" "perhaps" is it? The stats show we are not that big a deal to Germany anymore. You going to dismiss it as project fear again? (lol)

This bloke obviously thought it was all Project fear. Hear that faint squealing noise? Its the worlds tiniest violin playing. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=889888878503072

Its not a problem for me ;-) ..........

I dont buy Kraut Krap :D ..........

Its a problem for everyone as regards imports and exports failing as it will drastically effect the economy. Firstly you will see price hikes in anything that has to be imported. This might be a part in something you think is British produced but contains elements sourced from the Eu. As business moves abroad its also less tax revenue so it means we have less money which leads to the government coming after yours. Those fisherman in the link complaining that this isnt the Brexit they voted for go bust, that leads to unemployment, not just for them but also those that worked around them. That leads to further losses to the economy and the government clawing it back from you.

Especially since Brexit has stopped the EU getting into Her Majesty's Tax Havens with their EU wide tax treaty, and getting it from the £billionaire 'newspaper' owners printing the tripe he soaks up :-S

When Rees Mogg was schooled by white van man in 2018 and dismissed it all as "Project Fear"

Now who we know who was better informed and told the truth.

Haha ... the truth...yeh right .

Did you watch the video?

Who, since the 1st January 2021 has been proved right?

1 Perhaps those folk who complain about our balance of trade........ Should by British instead of Kraut Krap for a chang >:-) ...........

2 BTW ..........Pelmetanomics is working fine for me B-) ..........

1 Oh, but before we joined the EU that is exactly what we did. The result was that we got over-priced UK produced krap instead, so people started buying less over-priced, better made, krap from elsewhere, especially Japan, but also Italy, France and Germany. So British manufacturers lost business, our post-war trade balance went south, and pressure to join the EEC, with its prospect of tariff free access to their markets, grew. After we'd joined, UK manufacturers more or less thought they had it made, so instead of upping their games, carried on with the same old krap until, one by one, they went bust or were taken over by the Japanese, the Germans, he French etc. Didn't you know that?

2 I'm sure it is, in a kind of "sod everyone else" sort of way. :-D

Evening Standard: EU boss Ursula von der Leyen under fire over block on fresh shellfish exports from UK.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/ursula-von-der-leyen-eu-block-shellfish-exports-b919126.html

Except George Useless has egg on his face now as the government have admitted the EU was correct in enforcing the ban.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-shellfish-ban-eu-fishing-b1799816.html

What is unforgivable is these rules have been known about for years but what we got was just nearly five years of uncertainty and bulls**t right up until the final hour when a bare bones deal was cobbled together on the back of a fag packet. Business should have been told all this years in advance but no, that isnt what a Populist government will do. They will just repeat stuff like "We are going to get a great deal" etc etc and then when it all goes tits up its too late and they panic like hell to paper over the cracks and brush it under the carpet or blame anyone but themselves.

Four days later and i'm STILL waiting for him to explain how losing 65% of exports to the EU is 'beneficial' to the UK. :-|

In business for 60 years now gone down the pan thanks to Brexit. Another 'benefit' of Brexit is closing successful businesses down and putting people out of work......brilliant. *-)

He dismissed that one the other day by making out that the owner was probably retiring anyway so its not because of Brexit its because he no longer wants to work or keep the family business going that employs people in the local area. (lol)

Maybe these businesses should consider abopting the Parasitemanomics business model? (lol)

You know....the model where someone works part time from their garage- Claim they've owned yachts- Claim they've "semi-retired"- only to later claim state benefits- Have their wife's state pension as their only income- Live in a 30 year old, inherited motorhome- Park it up for half the year on their MiL's driveway - And then wait to inherit their MiL's house??...:-D

Admittedly, It's not much of a business model, and certainly not one to broadcast, not if someone has any self respect or indeed any sense of shame.. ;-)

I'm amazed he managed to find an excuse for that as i've been waiting a week now to hear his excuse for UK losing 68% exports to EU.
