Immobiliser problems

The first action would be to go back to whoever carried out the EGR delete and get them to sort the problem.

EGR problems on that year van are best solved by replacing the EGR unit. Its not expensive and an easy task. Blanking off the EGR on a Euro4 van is also an option if you accept the moral consequences of the action.

Whoever persuaded you to have a EGR delete in the ECU should have known about the safer options.

2007 wiring and interconnections in the area of the engine ECU and fuse box are delicate and fault prone, 'messing' with the ECU may have caused the issues.

You could try disconnecting the engine battery for a few moments to reset the body computer ( that is having a 'senior moment' and flashing lights and so on).

If disconnecting the engine battery, ( its under the floor by the passengers feet), disconnect the negative quick release connector, with all the doors and windows closed and the ignition off, wait 2 minutes after closing the doors before disconnection. You can now open the door, wait around 15 minutes, close the door, reconnect, wait further 2 minutes before using the ignition.

Its very possible there is a wiring /connector/ or ECU fault, and that the reset will not solve the problem.

I hope you are successful in rectifying the problems created by the so called EGR delete.

The reversing light is not controlled by the body computer. From the ignition circuits, fused by fuse F3 30A in the engine fuse box, then to a fuse ,F35 7.5A, in the dashboard fuse box. From here a connection to the reversing switch on the gearbox, then a long run to the rear lights assembly. The cables do run in the engine compartment wiring loom and there are connections to the engine fuse box.

The rear light assembly has a under capacity connector for the negative return. This leads to overheating and poor connection. Removal of the connector, cleaning and adjusting the contact may give a mid term solution. The connector was revised in later vans to prevent this issue.

Not mentioned in my above post, water in the engine fuse box can cause erratic operation of lights, windows, wipers, indicators. The fuse box cover may not be secure allowing water entry. Due to the poor scuttle design there is always water ingress to the area of the ECU, cables, connector and fuse box.
