EU guilty of 1000's needless COVID deaths.........

For the European Union, whose identity was forged and tested in a series of political and economic crises in recent years, the vaccine fiasco will prove the most threatening of all. For some inexplicable reason, European leaders do not seem to share that sense of urgency, and they are also trapped in a bureaucratic structure in which immediate action is anathema, if not altogether impossible. Instead, in a moment of crisis, they are playing petty politics and dragging their feet.

Their risk assessment of the AstraZeneca vaccine makes even less sense given the obvious reality, which is that we are in the middle of an ongoing pandemic that shows no signs of abating and in which two new variants have emerged in Europe — one in Britain, and now one in France. How many more variants must there be before the E.U. vaccinates its citizens as if their lives were on the line?

Washington Post.

From your own link.....in fact the first sub-header below it's hyperbolic headline.

"A series of EU countries including France, Germany and Italy HAVE REINSTATED the use of AstraZeneca's vaccine"

When a single EU country either matches or passes the UK covid death toll of 146,487.....then you will have something to shout about. Until that happens, you have nothing left other than deflecting out of sheer desperation as pointed out to you on another thread.

When you can find a SINGLE EU country that either matches or passes the UK covid death toll of 146,487.....then you will have something to get excited about.

But you can't name one can you? That explains why you're so angry and shouty.

Russia excess deaths 450,000.

The last graph of European countries cases is interesting.

So you couldn't manage to find a single EU country with a death toll that either matches or passes that of UK?

Thanks for confirming.

Not actually looking,I made my point.

The way it’s going various other European countries will pass our total ,which is quite depressing .

Well no you didn't 'make your point' other than to quote figures from Russia which isn't an EU country. You've previously tried lumping a number of EU countries together to boost the figure but I clearly stated in my post yesterday "when a SINGLE EU country either matches or passes the UK death toll, you may have something to shout about."

But there is a danger in focusing on the numbers of dead, rather than the death rate per 100k population.

See here:

The point, surely, is that the UK should have among the lowest death rates among similar sized, similarly wealthy states. Instead, it is currently the highest. Why? What did the others do that we didn't do, or what didn't the others do that we did? Shouldn't we know?

So are you really arguing that the natives of those countries with Covid outcomes worse than ours have higher body mass indices (BMIs) than the UK, and all those with better outcomes have lower BMIs? Really?

If so, the Finns must be in acute danger of malnutrition! Is it not possible that your snap judgement is a little misleading? After all, whatever your BMI, you do have to be exposed to CoV-19 to become infected, not just "fat"! Besides, why should Gibraltarians be fatter, on average, then the population of the UK? Doesn't compute for me.

In relation to the point I made which Jumpy and Pinocchio have been trying their utmost to defeat but constantly fail with their wacko anti-EU whataboutery, due to the obvious uncomfortable fact neither can cope with!

Atrocious mismanagement from day one with much dithering and the usual juvenile buffoonery from Johnson. The country needed a strong leader but we got a lunatic voted in by Brexit fundamentalists who are still parroting the garbage they were fed over four years ago. That's how we got ourselves into a mess along with in/out/in/out lockdowns. Then we still have the other mess to deal with which a bunch of idiots foisted on the country and think it's a great laugh.
