malc d
Grumpyman - 2021-05-07 10:17 AM What sensible people that live in Hartlepool. Labour annihilated. I think the people of Hartlepool ( and maybe it's widespread 'up north ' ) are just optimistic about the future. After decades of neglect by all governments since the war ( and probably before ) Boris Johnson has committed to " levelling up " the north and south of England. The north have been told that they will now be getting transport links, trains , roads, bus services and job opportunities up to the same level as down south. No more moving south to get a well paid job. What's not to like ? ;-) p.s. Boris Johnson also has the advantage that, during a national crisis, such as the pandemic, it is very difficult for any other political party to 'oppose' the party in government. Yes because eleven years of Tory government has served them so well. It will have served them far better than any Socialist government ever could. But this thread exemplifies the sneering disdain by lefties for the ordinary people of the UK. From the Lady Nugee's scornful put down of the man in Essex who dared to display our national flag, to your recent cut and paste pouring vitriol over the residents of Hartlepool and, like others, harping on about an incident done by uninformed and simple people over 200 years ago. And there is no proof anyway that a monkey was actually hanged! Labour has again been humiliated and the answer from some of you seems to be to have more of Corbynism. That worked well didn't it? The inhabitants of Hartlepool are no different from the inhabitants of most other northern towns but because they have once again rejected the Left it can't possibly be the fault of the Left, so must be because everyone oop north is terminally stupid. The attitude of some on here and their supercilious sneering at ordinary working people is the reason that Labour is plummeting towards oblivion. But please, get rid of Starmer and let the Corbynites take over once again. This will delight me and every other supporter of the Conservative Party. It will also be a great help if, whenever there's a by election, you select an arch-remainer for a seat that voted emphatically to leave the EU! Genius! Bulletguy
Mortimers manifesto promises “More good quality, local, sustainable jobs – through our new freeport which includes the port of Hartlepool.....", which could prove interesting as Nadine Dorries claims the Tories have already created twice as many jobs in Hartlepool as what the total population is, so Mortimer has got her work cut out. You see this is where it gets funny, yes the Labour candidate, in his role as a GP on the Clinical Care Commissioning Group voted to reduce services at the local hospital so that they could be moved to specialised unit at a hospital ten miles away, partly in response to Tory NHS cuts partly because there are no longer enough specialists to man two units.
