Charles Chodkowski
It's very important to have a functioning smoke alarm but perhaps yours has been fitted in the wrong position. If you still have the instructions they should give advice about positioning.
Gman
We had that prob, solved it by getting a "toast proof" alarm, by fire angel, not heard it since. :-D Steve.
StuartO
We bought a “toast proof” smoke alarm but it still over-reacted when we were making toast! We now take the smoke alarm off it’s mount on the ceiling and stick it under the bed clothes and that does the trick. Of course we have to remember to put it back on the ceiling mount afterwards. breakaleg
When I remember I put a plastic elasticated jam jar cover over the alarm and remove it after toasting. Pete
