Awning Light

Good morning all,

I have a Chausson 628eb year 2016. I would like to fit an awning light over the door there is a switch on the panel for a awning light, if it is pre wired where are the wires I don’t want to run the wires surface inside the van. Has anyone got a Chausson 628eb with an awning light that could shed some light on my problem?

Thanks Dennis.

My Chausson 2004, has a factory fitted Awning light and I am surprised that yours does not ? I too wanted another light over the entrance Habitation door so I bought one from a caravan shop , it is surface mounted, it has a switch on it to turn it on from outside the van when you are standing outside in the dark fumbling for your keys to open the door, I just drilled a couple of screw holes and a hole to take the cable to feed the light and fitted it to the van side at the door sealing it with silicon, I then ran the cable direct to my habitation batteries VIA a remote fuse and connected the wires to the battery termininals in the usual way, Simples, I also ran another cable to the 3 ,12 volt sockets I fitted in the hab area of my van for phone charging etc again via remote fuses , these and the light outside is LIVE at all times so easy and effective and no visible cables anywhere.

You can of course obtain remote lights that are motion sensored and turn on automatically as you approach the van but I prefer to keep things simple ?
