Boyo
Hi, can anyone help me with some information on my GMC motorhome. it was imported into the country and used as ambulance back in the day, then some were converted to motorhomes by a company called Foster + Day. I need to find a replacement back window and also a couple of mirrors. Any help much appreciated. Boyo.
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Mark. A similar question was asked here 12 years ago. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Foster-and-Day-Motorhomes/14317/ Some of the links in the 2009 forum discussion may no longer work, but the information may still be helpful to you. rajohno
This company manufacture and repair Caravan and Motorhome windows, might be worth giving them a call. https://eeco-ltd.co.uk/
Derek Uzzell
This advert is for a 1992 Foster & Day “Tristar” motorhome with the 6.2litre GMC powerplant. https://sumra.net/p/1030000000/1294366867 The photo showing the (sliding) rear window suggests it might be a Seitz S4 product (example advert here) https://magnummotorhomes.co.uk/shop/windows/seitz-windows/seitz-s4-window-sliders/ but you may be better following rajohno’s suggestion if (say) you just wanted the panes rather than the complete window. I’m doubtful you’d find an exact match nowadays for the complete mirror-units, but you could probably find ‘heads’ that could be adapted to fit the existing arms, or ‘near-enough’ complete mirrors that could be substituted. If you just wanted the mirror glass, DIY cut-to-size kits are advertised online (example here) https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/proplus-multifunctional-mirror-repair-kit-l-550775593?type=shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl86dprHY8AIVCbp3Ch0ArQMeEAQYBSABEgJ8-vD_BwE
