whisturx
On the way to Italy we plan to have two or three nights in Switzerland. As we are over 3.5 tonnes we have to pay at the border from memory 25 Swiss francs which can be paid by credit card which covers a week on their motorways. Should we take Swiss Francs or do campsites take euros ? I know some small sites in France will not take credit cards so don't want to be searching for banks to change money in Switzerland. Brian Kirby
Use the search facility at the top of the forum page, enter switzerland as the keyword, restrict the search to motorhome matters and set the time to one year. You should get chapter and verse on the vignette situation, but if you are over 3.5tonnes, you can't use the 25 SF, standard, 1 December to 31 January vignette. Form your post it seems you probably already know this, but, just in case!Switzerland is not in the Eurozone, so has its own currency. Whether sites accept credit cards or Euros will be up to individual sites. If you know in advance where you intend stopping, why not see if you can get details from site websites, or by e-mail from them. Failing that, I'd plan on having to pay cash, since that is the only means of payment guaranteed to work.
RonB
If your only staying three days you can pay at the daily rate for your size vehicle of SF3.25 per day. Ron
