John52
pelmetman - 2021-08-29 9:18 AM Where as YOU like Corbyn would no doubt like to reward the Taliban *-) ............ Your lot have already rewarded the Taliban beyond their wildest dreams by leaving them the country AND all our weapons .. AND access to our files on all those who helped us who we have now abandoned to the Taliban >:-) Your lot have already given the Taliban everything they want So, even if we wanted to reward the Taliban - which we don't, what have we even got left to reward them with ? John52
Afghans employed by the British army or who worked with UK-based organisations believe they and their families could be tortured and murdered for working with western powers ....... “This issue has been on politicians’ desks for two to three years and, certainly, it’s been there during the course of this year … Back in July, 45 senior officers wrote to the government … saying there are people we are concerned about and if we don’t do the right thing, their blood will be on our hands. It is unfathomable why it would appear that the government was asleep on watch.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/29/ministers-seemed-asleep-on-watch-over-safety-of-afghans-says-ex-army-chief-richard-dannatt according to UK Army General Lord Richard Dannatt .. presumably a 'Leftie' to pelmet *-)

John52
Bulletguy - 2021-09-04 2:48 PM What an absolute cock up. :-( .. and what help can British forces expect from the local population next time they need it :-S I get that Raab would have been no use even if he had been at work. But at least if he had answered the phone, and replied to the Afghan Foreign Minister, it would have shown we care about the people who helped us... when the Taliban are coming for them. Instead of sunning himself on a beach in Crete can't be bothered to pick up the phone >:-) Even if he couldn't help them... it would at least have been something if he just lifted the phone to show that he cared.
