Not surprised but disappointed with the country we've become

Well, I too, am not surprised that the Tory campaign manager got off lightly - but the other bloke was not sent to prison just for pinching babys milk. It seems he had form, and having been let off lightly for several previous offences, he finally pushed his luck too far.

Hardly surprising that he has previous for stealing out of necessity when he has been on the street for three and a half years. The frustrating thing is that if the money spent to prosecute and lock him up had been spent supporting him it would have cost the public purse less. During the lockdowns most of the countries homeless were housed which showed that it can be done, it also allowed a high proportion of those people to turn their lives around just by having a little stability.

Shelter are suggesting that there is going to be massive growth in homelessness now furlough and the ban on evictions is coming to an end. Some people keep bragging about how we are the seventh richest economy in the world, it doesn't look like it.

First offence you say? Charged for more than 1,400 offences.

But still you'll happily defend a nonce who viewed images of babies being abused. Because he is your Tory nonce - one of many.

"A former Conservative Party campaign manager from Coventry found with over 1,400 indecent images of children has avoided going to prison.

Mark Lerigo was today (August 21) handed a suspended sentence after previously admitting online child sexual abuse offences.

Earlier this summer, he pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing indecent images of children, three counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing extreme pornography involving animals, one count of possessing prohibited images of children and one count of publishing an obscene article.

He appeared for sentencing today at Warwick Crown Court where he was given a two-year jail term suspended for two years, as well as 150 hours unpaid work and being made subject to a four-month electronic curfew between 8pm and 6am.

Lerigo will sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years and also has a decade-long sexual harm prevention order made against him.

Four electronic devices will also be forfeited and Lerigo will cough up £670 in court costs.

Lerigo, 49, of William Bristow Road, Coventry, was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) in November 2018.

Investigators found the images along with a WhatsApp chat with another offender discussing the sexual abuse of children.

Lerigo had an iPad which contained a total of 1,005 illegal images, including 146 classed as category A, the most serious level, showing abuse pictures of children, and 258 images of extreme pornography.

He also had a laptop which contained evidence of a total of 414 illegal images – including 59 category A images.

Graham Ellis, NCA operations manager, speaking after the hearing, said: “Offenders who view indecent images are fuelling more and more sexual abuse of children.

“Every time an abuse image is shared or viewed the child is revictimised.

“Child sexual abuse is a priority threat for the NCA. It doesn’t matter what walk of life an offender is from, we will do everything in our power to catch them.”"

My understanding is Government intervention in the housing market has restricted supply, and stoked up demand with taxpayer funded subsidies. To the benefit of multiple home owners like Members of Parliament.

My home may have doubled in price but I am no better off because I can't sell it without making myself homeless.

But the increase in the price of my house has added to UK GDP

Because they count imputed rent as GDP making the UK look more prosperous than countries with better quality and affordable housing.

Tory rag tries to paint ONLY the Labour party as responsible for child sexual abuse shock. I could link to articles that point the finger at other parties - the Lib Dems (Cyril Smith anyone) or the Tory Party - remember Peter Morrison and Thatchers cover up. And even the Royal Family. But what we are discussing here is a person who regardless of political persuasion should be condemned, but you just cannot do it can you?

So in effect you are a enabler, standing on the sidelines ignoring the abuse of babies. And that is how those that abuse get away with it. Because people like you refused to condemn the perpetrators due to "party loyalty". Think about that.
